Our goal at Wild Spirit Recreation is to provide educational experiences and opportunities to everyone who is willing to explore the wild. Our educational services include engaging with youth to explore their local communities by hosting curriculum based STEM activities, classes and workshops.

Vernal Pools - Wildflowers, Aquatic Species & Interpretive Walk
Open to Grade Levels 4 - 8
$30 per student per day
Location: Rancho Seco Recreation Area
Details: Come join us on a hike to see the vernal pools at Rancho Seco Recreation Area. Our Wild Spirit Recreation guides will lead the way to the vernal pools, sharing knowledge about the cultural and natural history of the area while helping to identify the native flora and fauna that can be found in the Central Valley landscape.

Wild Naturalist
Open to Grade Levels 1 - 4
$30 per students per day
$100 per student for the 4-week program
Location: American River Parkway
Details: Our student naturalist program is a 4-week course for grades 1 - 4 to learn about the natural resources of the American River. Each week, our Wild Spirit Recreation guides will explore a new subject of the natural area, such as plants, animals, and water resources. This experiential learning opportunity is a great way for students to connect and explore the local outdoors.
